Hottests’ protest canceled

We reported earlier about 2PM fans, Hottest, creating a new fan club dedicated to solely bringing back Jaebeom.

There were plans for a large scale protest in Korea on the 31st at 2pm where fans would hit all the major cities, spreading awareness as they hand out fliers, put up posters, and request signatures for a petition. But the protest has been canceled.

As to why the protest was canceled, it is still unknown and fans who were not aware of the cancellation arrived at the locations confused and informed of the cancellation by the police. Stay tuned for the next chapter.

Taecyeon to star in a drama?

It looks like Taecyeon of 2PM will join the long list of singers turned actors!

It’s been confirmed that he will be playing the male lead in the upcoming drama “Cinderella’s Sister” (신데렐라 언니).

Taecyeon will be playing the role of Jungwoo, who is an intelligent, strong, and honest young adult. His character is also a bit naïve and has a crush on Eunjo, “Cinderella’s” step-sister, who will be played by Moon Geun Young.

A representative for the drama said, “Although Taecyeon isn’t an experienced actor, his bright personality keeps him from being overwhelmed by the more experienced cast of Moon Geun Young, Chan Jungmyung, and Suh Woo. We trust that Taecyeon will be able to give life to his character which is why we chose him.”

This is Moon Geun Young’s first attempt at being the antagonist in a drama, so things should be interesting for the very innocent actress.

“Cinderella’s Sister” is set to air this March, so stay tuned!

With After School completing their hat trick of Mutizen awards last Sunday, Inkigayo was due a new winner on the 31st January episode.

And out of the nominees, 5 of the seven performed this afternoon with CNBlue for I’m a Loner, BEAST for Mystery, SeeYa + Davichi + T-ara for Wonder Woman, Hyuna for Change and 2AM for Can’t Let You Go Even If You Die. Jokwon + Ga-In and T-ara were not performing.

And just like Music Bank a few days earlier, the CNBlue boys picked up their first-ever Mutizen award for their debut hit song. It has certainly been a meteoric rise to the top for the super rookies. Can the boys keep it going next week? Stay tuned!

2PM Boycott Continues

2PM Hottests are still in protest over ex-leader Jaebeom, and they showed so by returning their 2PM CDs to JYPE.

Jaebeom’s fanclubs have united and given out a statement regarding their actions, “The fans are feeling mixed emotions between disappointment and anger towards the company’s lack of responsibility of Jaebeom. The fans have supported 2PM as a group of 7 members, but because of JYPE’s lack of responsibility, they have began boycotting against all JYPE relations.”

On the 16th, around 2 in the afternoon, the boycotters sent in a car of 3000 2PM CDs to JYPE in notice of their protest. They are boycotting against JYPE until an official, public announcement is made, announcing that they will disregard Jaebeom’s decision in leaving the group. In other words, they will continue to boycott until JYPE takes action and brings sexy leader Jaebeom back, regardless of what he said he wanted.

We have reported earlier about the boycott set to take its place on the 10th, regarding the exclusion of 2PM’s performance for the Dream Concert’s public broadcasting.

2PM, or some may call them 6PM, are back in schedule again, yet with their leader’s position remaining empty. Returning 2PM members are set to perform their “come-back” stage on the 10th at the Dream Concert. However, SBS recently agreed with the JYP Entertainment to cut out the footage of 2PM’s stage for their broadcast on the 11th, due to the controversies still revolving around their former leader, Jaebeom. This officially abandoned the last straw for the fans to see their beloved 2PM perform on stage again after a very long time of absence.

The heartbroken fans gathered under the club named “The Happiest Time for the Noonas”, to purchase an ad containing messages toward their wait for Jaebeom. The ad was displayed on page 6 of Han Gyuh Reh News on the 9th, successfully raising their voice throughout the country.

The Hottests have proven once again that their sense of creativity is always miles ahead everyone else. The ad showed a world map with a line connecting the cities of Seoul and Seattle, yet with both clocks pointing at 2:00. It reflected the deep meaning of their unification, and how they only shine when there’s seven on the stage.

Also, they added the word, ‘기다리다’, meaning ‘Waiting’. Below the word, they included the bilingual definition straight from the dictionary but seems to describe their status in minds. At the very bottom, they directly expressed their thoughts by writing “2PM: The Happiest Time of the Noonas await for the Leader Jaebeom’s return.”

I think it’s now time to ask the real question… would Jaebeom really want all this?

Poor Jaebeom!! He must be so sad right now...

JYPE to hold press conference on Jaebeom

Metroseoul released an article in regards to JYPE holding a press conference on the 24th, where they will most likely release information on Jaebeom’s return or official leave.

hazyfiasco@2ONEDAY translated the article:

2PM’s agency JYP Entertainment will be making a company announcement on the course of action for Jaebum. An associate stated that JYPE will be holding a press conference on the 24th, although the actual content of the conference is not yet revealed.

There are two possible topics that the conference could touch on. 2PM Jaebum’s complete withdrawal or a return sounds like a reasonable guess since the company’s official stance has been much requested.

First, the possibility for Jaebum’s return is that the public and press alike believe that it is the perfect time for his return. The boycott stance that the fans took after Jaebum’s leave last September has put much pressure on the company.

On the 15th, 2PM’s gyopo fans even put out an ad in a Los Angeles newspaper, proving that the interest and attention of fans have yet to be answered and that JYPE must come out with an official statement. On the 17th, 2PM also completed their first album promotions and there is much hope that Jaebum will be a part of their coming album release.

However, apart from these speculations, there lies a heavier weight on the fans. The press conference was originally set to be on the 21st but since it was the day of 2AM’s album release, the conference was delayed to the 24th after their STV ‘Inkigayo’ comeback performance.

It appears to be a tactic to prevent bad news in the face of 2AM’s return, as the company fully knows that 2PM fans alike are supporting 2AM. Although there has yet to be an official announcement or background on Jaebum’s complete withdrawal, should JYPE reveal it on the 24th, the music world will surely be shaken up again.

Despite the release of an official statement from JYP Entertainment saying that 2PM will continue with 6 members, Hottests aren’t letting this just go away with Jaebom’s future still up in the air.

On the afternoon of 20th September, 2PM’s fan club, Underground announced that the full boycott of 2PM’s activities will continue until the decision to withdraw Jaebeom from 2PM is ended. Their statement wrote that JYPE should release Jaebeom’s contract terms and hopes that JYP can depict clearly exactly how he is going to help Jaebeom return to 2PM.

The fan club also wanted JYPE to apologize, especially for not doing enough for Jaebeom (shielding him), and also hope that the other 2PM members can tell fans personally about their feelings about this matter and not through JYP.

Finally, they stamped home the point that, they are not asking for Jaebeom’s immediate return, but to withdraw their (JYPE) decision to take him out of 2PM. They are sorry for misunderstanding the way JYP has handled the situation and the problems that have surfaced for the other 2PM members.

But until their demands are met, the boycott of 2PM will continue.

2PM fans send $68,000 to JYPE!

Twenty 2PM fanclubs got together and sent 6,192 fake bank books to JYP Entertainment as part of their second boycott, but also to show their support through symbolism.

The bank books all say they have approximately $10 (11,000won) in them, with the following message, “We have $10 to buy 2PM’s new album when Park Jaebeom returns.” On the back it says, “I ♡ Jaebeom.”

The bank books were made and sent by 2PM and 2AM fans, as well as international fans.

They picked this strategy as their boycott plan because the gesture shows JYPE the importance of Jaebeom and that the fans are serious about supporting 2PM upon Jaebeom’s return.

If you add up all the “money” in the bank books, there is a total of $68,000! It’s definitely a clever gesture from the Hottests.

Hottests won’t buy the album without Jaebeom

The dearly missed boys of 2PM are finally back with their new album, 1:59. However, as the title of the album suggests, 2PM failed to be complete as a seven member group with their former leader, Jaebeom still out of sight. Although the return of the boys would normally excite Hottests like no other, it seems like not all of them are happy about the group’s “incomplete” comeback. Seven copies of the following poster were posted on the walls near the Seoul City Hall Station around 7 PM on the November 12.


“2PM, We Won’t Buy Unless There’s 7!!! -2PM Fans”

“We will dispose the posters ourselves at 10 PM, so please do not take them down.”

This poster was a clear declaration that the Hottests will now engage in another boycott by not purchasing 2PM’s new album.

Hottest’s plan for large-scale protests

2PM’s fanclub, Hottests, are planning to do another protest, but this time, every fan in Korea is apparently attending.

On the 2PM fancafe, it stated, “On the 31st of January, starting from 1PM, we will have a nationwide protest for Park Jaebeom’s withdrawal status. The location will be Jong-ro 2-Ga, Seoul. I know you guys are busy, but please come and support.”

Fans are in discomfort because the direction in which this incident seems to be headed, is that Jaebeom will not return. In their opinions, the situation is totally opposite from when JYP gave them hope on Jaebeom’s return through national television. In addition, the recent news of Sunmi’s withdrawal from the Wonder Girls has made Hottests even more anxious.

Will these protests do anything? What if it was Jaebeom’s sole decision to withdraw and not JYPE’s fault? How will fans justify their behavior then?

Hottests just aren’t satisfied with 6

2PM recently got a new fanclub amongst the countless that they have. However, this one is quite different as it was made for one sole reason: to bring Jaebeom back.

Instead of following the beast idols’s schedules or sending them food, this fanclub goes around posting posters for Jaebeom’s comeback. On the 30th, these fanclub members raided JYP Entertainment with posters reading, ‘It has to be 7 members,‘ and ‘We’re not buying if it’s not 7 members.’

The fanclub stated, “We will be rooting for the 7-member 2PM as we wait for JYPE to clarify all the news and rumors regarding Jaebeom.”

On the 31st at 2pm, the fanclub will be hitting up all the major cities in Korea to spread word regarding Jaebeom’s withdrawal. More specifically, they will be handing out flyers with the information of Jaebeom’s withdrawal from 2PM and they will be passing a petition around to ask for JYPE’s clarification.
